Dr. Billy J. Rash
is Senior Pastor of Kern Christian Center in Bakersfield, CA. He accepted
the Lord in 1973 and received the baptism of the Holy Spirit in 1975. He was
introduced to the faith message through the ministry of Kenneth Copeland. In
1978 Pastor Billy Rash went to work for
Kenneth Copeland Ministries and in
January of 1979 he became Kenneth Copeland's Associate Minister. During 1980 -
1983 Pastor Billy traveled for Kenneth Copeland Ministries and if Gloria
Copeland could not go to the meetings then Pastor Billy would teach the healing
school and do the miracle services with Brother Copeland. He then began
evangelizing under Billy Rash Ministries. In 1985 Pastor Billy moved to
Bakersfield and started a new church, Kern Christian Center. In 1995 the land
was purchased for the new site of the church and in 1998 construction for Phase
I was completed. While pastoring in Bakersfield he went back to school at
Southern California Theological Seminary. There he obtained his Bachelor of
Theology, Master of Theology, and was given a Doctorate of Divinity degree. In
1993 he finished his Doctorate of Theology at Vision Christian University.
In addition to his duties as
Senior Pastor, he is also involved in community service as Chaplain for the
Bakersfield Police Department. He is also a board member for
Hilton Sutton
Ministries and on the Presidents Council for
Jerry Savelle Ministries. Pastor Billy is married to Shelby A. Rash
and they make their home in Bakersfield, CA.
Shelby
A. Rash is a graduate of
Point Loma Nazarene College in San Diego, California. Shelby
graduated with a degree in Education and a minor in Sociology.
While in San Diego, Shelby was involved in Music Ministry as well as
work and witness projects in Venezuela and Mexico. Shelby was also
a teacher in the public schools as well as the Private school system.
In 1997 Shelby moved from San Diego, California to Bakersfield,
California to be closer to her family. Shelby is the
Minister of Music and Education at Kern Christian Center and leads the
congregation in Worship and Praise prior to Pastor Billy teaching the
Word.
